Video – The Impact of Mixing on Cell Culture in Bioreactors
Efficient mixing in bioreactors is important when adding bases or acids to control cell culture pH or when adding nutrients to the cell culture. Advanced impeller designs and improved process understanding have reduced the impact of shear on cells. Currently mixing topics are focused on the dissolution of oxygen and the stripping of CO2 and reduction of the concentration gradient.
