Anna-Barbara Hachmann is Senior Scientist in Bioproduction R&D at Thermo Fisher Scientific and currently leads development of new cell culture media and supplements for vaccine, gene therapy and protein production processes. Dr. Hachmann obtained her Ph.D. at Cornell University and worked as postdoctoral fellow at the Antimicrobial Discovery Center, Northeastern University and Harvard Medical School. She investigated antibiotic resistance mechanisms and identified novel species-specific antibiotics as part of the NIH Human Microbiome Project.
