Bhaskar Mandavilli, Ph.D

Bhaskar Mandavilli received his Ph.D. in Neuro-biology from the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Hyderabad, India and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences in Research Triangle Park, NC studying mitochondrial DNA damage and repair. He was a research faculty at University of North Carolina studying the role of mitochondria in cardio-vascular disease. Bhaskar has been with Thermo Fisher Scientific for 13 years, joining as a research and development scientist specializing in 3D biology, high content imaging, fluorescence microscopy, toxicology, DNA damage and repair, mitochondrial biology, oxidative stress, cell health and apoptosis. During his time within the research and development group he led the development of fluorescent reagents that cover a diverse range of technology platforms including fluorescent protein based biosensors, Click chemistry, and environmentally sensitive dyes. Bhaskar is at present, a senior staff scientist in R&D working on high content imaging and 3D spheroid models.
